It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Antonio Furtado Jorge. Surrounded by his loved ones, Antonio passed away peacefully on August 31, 2022, at the age of 82. Antonio was born to Joao & Jesuina Jorge, in Pico, Azores, Portugal, on March 23, 1940.

Beloved husband of the late Maria Madalena Jorge of 58 years. Cherished father of Julia Hopkins (Brent) & Filomena Jorge (Youbert). Adored grandfather of Samantha (Michael), Victoria & Eric. Proud great grandfather of Liam. Dear brother of Maria Do Carmo of Portugal and the late Julia Faria. He will be lovingly remembered by his niece & nephews Teresa, Tony & David, and all his extended family.

A family man, who was always smiling. His kindness spilled onto all that he did. Antonio’s greatest passion was tending to his garden. At every visit he would send his loved one’s home with the fruits of his labour. He treasured his children, grandchildren and great grandchild and embraced every moment with them. He truly cared for all those around him, often checking in on his loved ones, and constantly thanking his caregivers and nurses.
Our grief over losing him is infinite, and our loving memory of him will always remain in our hearts.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. & 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Roch’s Parish, 2889 Islington Ave., Toronto on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
