Antonietta Lapiccirella was born in Vieste Italy on June 10th, 1940. The daughter of Pantaleo and Filomena, she was one of eight siblings. As a young girl, her first love was to sing and it’s a love she kept with her forever.
Antonietta met Libero when she was 20 years old. After a quick courting, it didn’t take much for him to fall for the 5’7, blue eyed blonde beauty. They married first by proxy when he moved to Canada and shortly after Antonietta joined him.
Together they built a home and life in Toronto, welcoming into the world four children. Antonietta was hard working, resilient and reluctant to take a moment for herself. In a time before vacation days and facetime, she raised her family without having her own close by.
Her husband will remember her by the family they created, the sacrifices they made and the love they shared.
Her children will remember her for her hard work and dedication to their family. The seven fish course dinner at each Christmas, the handmade orecchiette and Claudio Villa playing in the background.
Her grandchildren will remember her for her love of Italy, her commentary during intense tombola games, and the way she would snare mike, with an extra emphasis on the "e".
And everyone will remember her for how elegant she was. The classiest women in the room no matter what the occasion. With a closet full of pink suit jackets and dresses, before it was trendy to run errands in an overdressed outfit, Antonietta was doing it first.
