Anna Salvaterra, age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday August 23rd, 2019. She is now reunited with her late husband Carlo Salvaterra and granddaughter Cassandra. Beloved mother to Giancarlo (Serena), Vanda, Mary (Roy) and Patricia (fabian). Cherished nonna to Leighanne, Wesley, John (Kyra), Christina and Erica. Dear sister to Mincotta and family in Romallo, Italy. Anna was born May 17th 1926 in Romallo, Italy to Innocente and Ottiglia Agosti. On January 19th, 1952 she married Carlo Salvaterra and immigrated to Toronto with three children in tow in 1958. A few years later they welcomed their youngest daughter Patricia. Though she worked hard and enjoyed many hobbies her first priority was always family. Through all her struggles as a first generation immigrant, her faith in God always remained strong. Blessed with six beautiful grandchildren, they were the pride and joy of her later years. Anna could be remembered as a distinguished cook, an avid gardener, with a smile that could light an entire room, and a quick wit unmatched by none. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mamma, Nona, we love you. Visitation will take place at Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Roch's Church (2889 Islington Avenue, Woodbridge) on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Roch's Church would be appreciated
