Ann Barrett

Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Ann Barrett (nee McGee) died peacefully at Hospice Vaughan on May 10, 2024. She is now reunited in Heaven with our father John (deceased 2012), her beloved husband of 58 years. Together they founded “Barrett’s Garden Centre” formerly in Woodbridge, Ontario. 

Ann will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her five children Teresa (Bif), Eileen (Charlie), Pat (Susan), David (Rose) and Joan (Maurice). Proud and loving grandmother to Robert (Melanie), Penny, Tamara, Sarah, and Matthew. Great-grandmother to Alexis, Camryn, Berkley and Jack. Ann is also survived by her brother John, and many relations throughout the U.K. and the U.S. 

Ann will miss her weekly tea and the warm camaraderie shared as a resident of the “Gables” in Kleinburg, Ontario, where she lived for the past 25 years. 

The family is very grateful to Marianela Duran who helped care for Ann over the past year with much compassion and kindness. The family is also grateful to Hospice Vaughan where Ann spent her final days with grace and dignity. 

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (8500 Islington Ave. Woodbridge). Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Vaughan or the Canadian Cancer Society.
