ANITA SABUCCO (nee Boem)
September 2, 1932 – November 11, 2024
Anita passed away peacefully at the Dorothy Ley Hospice. She is survived by her loving daughters Doretta Wilson and Janine Buday (Stan), her grand-children Brendan (Elizabeth), Natalie, and Mark (Jessica) Wilson, Elizabeth and Neil Buday, great-grandchildren Noah, Elias and Clara Wilson, and her sister Deanna Blasutti (Jack). She is predeceased by her husband Antonio, parents Gus and Yolanda Boem, brothers Dino, John, and Gus Boem, and son-in-law Brian Wilson.
Born and raised in Toronto, she attended Loretto Abbey and studied operatic voice at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She had been accepted by the New York City Opera and hoped to continue her studies in New York but met the love of her life, Tony and spent 70 years of marriage together. She assisted in Tony’s masonry business as a bookkeeper. After raising her family, her love of people and organizing almost any event, brought her to the women’s auxiliary of the Famee Furlane Club, the Società Femminile Friulana where she served as president for many years and also organized the ladies’ bowling league. Anita was an excellent cook who loved preparing family dinners and an avid puzzle devotee.
Grateful thanks to her wonderful caregiver Shantie.
