Angela De Jesus

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear matriarch, Angela De Jesus in her 89th year on January 30th, 2025. Angela was born to Antonio, and Maria Herminia on May 16, 1935, in Madeira, Portugal. Angela was one of 6 children, and adored her siblings, Maria, José, João, Avelino and Antônio.

Angela was married to the love of her life, Joao, for 70 wonderful years. Together they had 6 children, whom she adored, and was incredibly proud of, Angela (Jamie), Lidia (Tony), Joe (Anna), Dori (Karl), Rosita (Joe), and John (Ann). She was a doting grandmother to Jennifer (Emil), Melanie (Rene), Kevin (Deanna), Stefanie (Cam), Ashleigh (Kyle), Ryan (Emily), Jordan, Meagan, Caitlin (Avery), Joshua, Mikkealla, Jacob, Kristofer, and Ace. Beloved great grandmother to Cara, Ella, Matthew, Alessia, Vanessa and Max.

She will be fondly remembered for her love of family gatherings, whether it be a holiday, or even a meal, she was always happiest spending time with family. Angela loved sitting for coffee with her kids and recounting past stories. She also loved playing cards, and in her later years at the retirement home loved to play bingo, always conspiring as to why she wasn’t winning.

She loved to cook traditional meals, and gardening, always ensuring her vegetables were given to her neighbors and family. Angela was very devoted to her Catholic faith, attending mass whenever she could. Her family will especially miss her homemade Christmas cakes and liqueurs.

 Forever loved, always remembered.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 2:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Roch's Parish (2889 Islington Avenue, North York) on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
