In loving Memory of Alistair Cooper (1931-2020)
On September 13, 2020 at the age of 89 Alistair Cooper passed away peacefully at home. Born in Aberdeen Scotland, he immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1960. Husband to Thelma Cooper (nee Howell), father to Neil (who predeceased him) and his wife Marilyn, grandfather to Jeanette and Christopher.
Alistair enjoyed cycling in his youth as a member of the Panthers Road Club, and maintained lifelong friendships with several of his cycling friends. He travelled extensively as a member of the British Merchant Navy. He was a quiet person, but was also a bit of a daredevil, enjoying activities like hot air ballooning and doing the CN Tower Edge Walk with his son and grandson (Alistair’s idea).
In more recent years he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and tackling jigsaw puzzles (his grandchildren enjoyed finding ones that would be a challenge).
He had a smile that lit up his face and even during the more challenging times of the past few months, he could be counted on for a smile.
He will be missed.
As per Alistair’s wishes there will be no service. If you wish donations in his memory can be made to the Salvation Army
