Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 1, 2024 at the age of 83. Devoted husband of Pina of 58 wonderful years. Proud father of Gigliola (former partner Tony Da Silva), Sara and Monica (Tony Imbrogno). Cherished Nonno of Rebecca, Cristina, Isabella, Vanessa, David, Giovanni, Jennifer, Samantha and Jessica. Dear brother of the late Evasio, the late Corinna (Umberto predeceased), Rita (Giovanni predeceased), the late Luciana (Luciano predeceased), the late Antonio (Flavia predeceased), the late Cesare (Amelia), Silvino (Phyllis) and Assunta (Bob predeceased). Brother in-law of the late Rick, Mary (Salvatore predeceased) and Gino (Denise). Fred will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and family here in Canada and Italy.
He was born in Terracina, Latina, Italy to parents Giuseppe and Maria. As a young boy he would hang out at the local mechanic shop learning the ropes of working on engines. From the age of 12 he could be found behind the wheel of cars driving the roads of Terracina.
Alfredo loved soccer. Growing up he played goalie and his love for the game never diminished.
At the age of 18, Alfredo made the journey to Canada. It was here that he met his beautiful bride Pina. Together the young couple worked hard to build a life for their family.
Fred loved spending time with his family kite flying, bike riding. skeet shooting and hunting. When with his grandchildren, he loved spending time playing cards and board games, watching cartoons and sports, and enjoying time outdoors.
Back in the day, Pina and Alfredo would escape the cold Canadian winters to enjoy the sun in Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic as well as their much beloved Cuba. Trips back home to Italy to spend time with family was always memorable.
His faith was strong. He was a man who never gave up, his perseverance helped him overcome the many obstacles in his life.
“Forever loved, always remembered.”
