Alex Knox

Peacefully, with family by his side, Alex joined his beloved wife Nancy on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He will be missed by his son Ross and wife Diane, daughter Kim and husband Robert, granddaughter Camille and fiancé Nick. Older treasured brother of Betty, the late Andrew (Olive) and Arthur, as well as brother-in-law to Joyce, Margaret, Charlie (Lillian), Helen and Bruce. Favourite uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England and Scotland. Alex came to Canada in 1954, preparing the way for Nancy and Ross to join him. He made Canada his home, using his skills as a draughtsman and mechanical engineer in a variety of jobs before settling in for the long haul in Brampton with Chubb, Mosler and Taylor. Alex quickly became involved in the community by joining the Brampton Curling Club, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and playing any golf course within a driveable radius! Alex enjoyed travelling, especially after retirement, with Nancy to many places as well as family trips and cruises with his children and granddaughter. Whether as a Dad or Granddad he read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas for over 55 years, never missing a year, even one year reading it on the plane on the way home from the Bahamas! Visitation and Service will be on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St. South, Brampton, Visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with Service following at 1:00 p.m. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada or Shelter Brampton. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thestar/obituary.aspx?n=alexander-ross-knox-alex-sandy&pid=175493345&fhid=17724#sthash.D7k58HOX.dpuf
