It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father, Alberto Oliveira, on October 5th, 2024, at the age of 85.

Alberto was born in Portugal, where he also met and married the love of his life, Maria Eduarda. Soon after they moved to Canada and began building their life together. Despite facing many changes and harrowing hardships throughout his years, above all, Alberto’s life was defined by the love he had for his family.

A hard-worker, devoted husband, and dedicated father, Alberto’s focus was always on supporting and providing for his wife and children. When his job led to a debilitating spinal injury in his early 30s, Alberto stood obstinate in the face of this adversity. His strength and dignity never wavered, and he found new ways to continue supporting his family despite lasting and life-long limited mobility.

Alberto was well-known for his resilience and strength, but he was also an unerringly kind and caring man. He was a talented baker, a lover of animals, and he was always there to help when someone needed him. His presence in people’s lives was a constant source of comfort, and he will be dearly missed by all those who ever had the privilege to bask in the love and laughter he so often shared. 

Alberto will be dearly missed by his three children, Guilherme (Bill), Margarida, and Dina Cherished grandfather to his four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Adored by his surviving, loving sister, Maria Emilia.

Immediately following the interment, a reception will be held at 320 Mill Street South in Brampton.
