Albert Kole

Albert Kole, 92, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Born in Pine Falls, MB, Al moved to Saskatchewan in his early 20s to work in the mining industry from where he eventually settled and built a life in Toronto. He spent many years working in lumber and then partnered with friends to work in the construction & building industry for the remainder of his career.

Al developed a close-knit group of buddies who formed their own “Rat Pack” back in the day, enjoying weekly poker games and regular jaunts to Vegas for boys’ weekends throughout the years. Al was a well-liked regular in the casino circuit, having been a VIP at many of the legendary ones, where he enjoyed schmoozing with the likes of Elvis and the true, original Rat Pack.

Despite being plagued by several serious heart related issues later in life, Al was determined to live according to his rules. He far outlived the life expectancy for the ailments he suffered and thankfully was able to spend his final years in his own home, on his own terms. He loved to watch anything sports related but was particularly fond of golf and football. When Al passed he did so in the comfort of his recliner, remote in hand and television on, exactly as he would have wished.

Lovingly referred to as “Sonny” by his family, he was sadly predeceased by his parents William & Pearl; his sisters Kay, Stell & Betty; his niece Suzanne; his great-nephew Todd; and unfortunately, as well as, all of his friends.

Al is survived by his daughter, Tricia; his brother Chuck (Mabel); his nieces Lynda, Cathy, Charlene & Donna; his nephews Bill & David; and each of their respective families.

We have no doubt that Sonny has happily settled in to the empty seat his friends have been saving for him at the poker table.

Wishing his soul peace & comfort and his spirit an eternity of “Royal Flushes”.

A donation in the memory of Mr. Kole to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
