FRANCIS, ALBERT (“Al”) WILLIAM April 30, 1947 – August 23, 2023. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert William Francis. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (nee Quinlan). Beloved father of Albert Jr. and Marie (George). Amazing grandfather to Sebastian and grand-dogger Lu-Lu. Brother to Russell (Tess). Uncle to Danny (Lynn), Debbie (Dave), Jeannie (Bruce), Laura, Andrew, and Sheridan. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Florence, sister Gail, brother-in-law Reuben, and nephew Norman. Al graduated from Western Tech and then proceeded to George Brown to focus on a profession as an electrician. Al worked primary at the Toronto District School board as an electrician and was active in union activities (Executive). A diehard baseball and hockey fan, Al was fortunate to witness championships for his beloved Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Al enjoyed golfing during his spare time. He celebrated his achievement of “worst golfer”.

During the last four years, Al’s primary focus was on his grandson Sebastian. For anyone who talked with Al, he would tell you all the stories he could. You could see the happiness in his eyes whenever Al spoke of his grandson. Forever the family man. Known to all his nieces and nephews as “Uncle Albie”. Al ensured he provided for his family. He will be missed and forever remembered. Rest in peace Al.

At Al’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 10th from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Ward Funeral Home “Weston Chapel”, 2035 Weston Rd, Toronto, ON. The Service will then take place at 1:00pm. This will be followed by a reception on-site to celebrate the life of Al. Memorial donations can be made in Al’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
