MacKinnon, Alan Gunn

Passed away peacefully on April 15, 2016 at the age of 75. Dear father of Kim (Stu Campbell) and Rob (Steven Davidson). Grandfather to Kaitlynn and Keivan. Beloved brother of Donny, Brent, Grant and predeceased by Cal and his parents Archibald and Penelope MacKinnon.
Al was born in Sudbury, moved his young family to Toronto where he joined the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force where his career spanned 25 years. After retiring, Al enjoyed a successful career selling VWs/Audis.

Al enjoyed his life and loved spending time boating on the Trent Severn, skiing at Collingwood and spending time with friends. 16 years ago, Al had a stroke that everyone believed would leave him completely debilitated. He proved us all wrong, fighting back through sheer will- power, the support of his family and daily visits to the Y.

Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton on Wednesday April 20, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
A Celebration of Alan’s life will be held on Thursday April 21, 2016 in the chapel at 1 pm. In celebration of Al’s life please raise a glass and toast him with a fine single malt Scotch.
