Hopper, Alan (1928-2011)

Peacefully died on April 21st after a lengthy illness at the age of 83. Alan will be remembered for his lively sense of humour and his love of baseball, hockey and cards. Beloved husband of 41 years to Florence. Loving father of John, Neil (Judy) and Karen (Benjamin). Proud ‘Papa’ to Bradley, Tara, Darrell, Amanda, Richelle and eight great-grandchildren. Brother to John Hopper and much loved brother-in-law to many. Cherished uncle to a large circle of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Stern and Alan’s caregivers over the last two years, at both his home and at the Waterford.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds St. “Oakville Chapel”, (905-844-3221) on Monday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Parish, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 at 1:00p.m. Private family interment will take place at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
