Adriano Dassi

They say life is a painting and we are the artists. If that’s true, Andy’s life was a true masterpiece and his impact, like a true work of art, timeless.

On March 14, 2025, Adriano Dassi, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and so much more, painted the final stroke of his masterpiece. Adriano – better known as Andy – was never one to leave a project unfinished and left his loved ones with the canvas of a life filled with love, hard work, patience, and kindness.

Born November 6, 1939 in Codroipo, Italy, Andy was welcomed to the world by his late parents, Olinda and Piero, and grew up alongside his treasured sister, Mirella (wife of Vittorio), and late brother, Italo (husband to late wife, Anna).

Not long after embarking on an adventure of a lifetime to Canada, Andy was introduced to the love of his life and best friend, Vincenzina. 60 years later and only a few weeks before his passing, Andy was asked what his greatest accomplishment was. Without skipping a beat, he said, “Marrying Vicky.”

The pair built a beautiful life upon unwavering love, which only grew after welcoming their two adored daughters – his ninis – Sandra (wife of Michael) and Helen (wife of Fabio). For the three women in his life, Andy would do anything. The successive early mornings, countless late nights and several long weekends never stopped him from coming home for dinner and sharing a meal with his family.

The years to come brought career success, new adventures, and endless triumphs. From building a home for his mother back in Italy, to moving his family into their dream home in Woodbridge, Andy’s reputation of dedication, thoughtfulness, and passion preceded him.

While his flourishing businesses and time working for the Painter’s Union were nothing short of impressive, his family was his greatest pride. Andy’s world overflowed with happy memories alongside the people he loved, the happiest of times being those spent with his granddaughter Stephanie, Jacqueline, Alessia and Raquel. From family story time to post-soccer DQ runs, time with his four “poopies” was full of laughter and brought a whole new meaning to the word joy.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Andy will be remembered by family and friends for far more than his master painting skills; it’s his kind heart, soft spoken words of wisdom, and unmatched kindness noted by all who crossed his path that will never be forgotten.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but if Andy painted it, it’s worth a million.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 1-4PM and 5-7PM. The funeral mass and celebration of Andy’s life will take place at the Immaculate Conception Church (300 Ansley Grove Rd, Woodbridge) on Monday March 17, 2025 at 9:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery at 11AM.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and PSWs at Sunnybrook Hospital and Hospice Vaughan. A special thank you to Dr. Sylvia Ng for her relentless support and endless compassion.
