Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at the age of 89. She was the oldest daughter of the late Giuseppe and Agata Prato, sister of Pierina, Liliana (deceased) and Alba . Adelaide was the devoted and loving wife of Salvatore “Sam” for 69 wonderful years. She was the proud mother of Louis (Adriana) and Joanna (Tony) and cherished Nonna of Sal (Natalja), Tania (Vince), Michael (Lindsay) and Anthony (Erica), and loving great grandmother of Louis, Francesco, Sienna, Sophia, Matteo, Joseph, Nicholas and Julian. In the last few years, she was especially grateful and appreciative of her caregivers, Jean, Teresa and Nenita.

Family and friends will fondly remember Adelaide for her many wonderful qualities, such as her caring nature, her generosity, and her natural ability to create special meals. She loved crocheting, music, and together with her husband enjoyed dancing.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy #7, Woodbridge on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church 100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge on Monday November 22, 2021 at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario or Hospice Vaughan.
