ADA CIPRIANI (nee Cirone)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ada on June 22, 2023. Words cannot adequately express the sadness her passing has brought to our lives. Loving wife of Domenico for 66 years, cherished mother of Gennaro (deceased), Angela (Michael) and Anthony (Joanna), and proud Nonnina of Mark, Michael, Dominique, Jacqueline, Monica, and Domenico. She was a loving sister to Lucia (Alighiero – deceased), Elisa, Francesco (deceased), Serena (Gianni), Nino (Saveria), and Angela (Elio), and a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Ada was born in Torre de’ Passeri, Pescara, Italy on April 29, 1936, the second of seven children in Gennaro and Maria Cirone’s family, and emigrated to Canada in 1955. Ada cherished her role as a caring sister from a very young age. Growing up in Italy, she took on the role of surrogate mom, attending to the needs of her younger siblings while her parents worked - making sure they were always well-fed and well-groomed. This role served her well later in life, spending countless hours preparing her delicious Abruzzese specialties for dinners she hosted for family and friends whether at home in Toronto, Florida, or Italy.
There is nothing Ada would not do for her family - she was always very protective of her children and grandchildren. Their comfort and well-being always came first. Those who met Ada considered her to be a kind and considerate person, always with a smile on her face and ready for an enthusiastic embrace. Ada will be truly missed but is now free of pain and in a better place. We will never forget the love Ada brought to our lives.
In recognition of the extraordinary care provided to Ada by the Palliative Care nurses at Etobicoke General Hospital, Ada’s family would greatly appreciate that donations be made in Ada’s name to the William Osler Health System Foundation in lieu of flowers.
