Obituary

With broken hearts we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Christopher Lesko due to a workplace accident on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the age of 50. Cherished son of Sharon Lesko. Beloved nephew of Joanne and Chris and dear cousin to Janesse, Tracy (Sharon) and Julie. Predeceased by his aunt Gaile Waymouth. Missed by his very best furry friend Mocha. Christopher was a kind and compassionate person. He had a huge heart and was always trying to help those less fortunate; including the homeless. He was humble and always giving to others; often being referred to as a“ true person” and an “earth angel”. He was also an old soul at heart; enjoying Motown and 70’s music and classic television shows like Green Acres and Sanford and Son. But most of all, he was the most dedicated and loyal fan of his beloved NFL Buffalo Bills. Christopher will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his many cousins, family members and a multitude of friends. The Lesko family wish to extended special appreciation to Christopher’s good friend Dr. Harold Spivak for his compassionate and dedicated care over the years. Visitation will take place at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston, on Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-9 pm. A service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be greatly appreciated.

Although I never was blessed to meet Christopher, I have been a long distant friend of his mother for many years, I know how proud she was of him and the amazing amount of love she held for him.
My heart goes out to my pal (Sholl) and all those who loved Christopher. May all the Saints in heaven keep him safe.
Our Lady of Lourdes pray for him .
Shine bright in heaven as you did on earth Christopher.

Chris had a huge impact on hundreds if not thousands of people he met during his very short life. Whether you just met him, were a lifelong friend, or a beloved member of his family, Chris made you feel special. It was genuine. That’s is what attracted people to him. It speaks volumes about Chris when you see the mass crowds of people grieving, as well as the touching stories people sharing. In his honour let’s try to do two things. Firstly, like his cousin Janesse suggested, do at least one kind act every day. We don’t know how much of an impact this may have in someone’s life. Secondly, when time has passed since this tragic event, let’s not forget that Chris’ mom and family are most affected by these events. Collectively, let us all make sure they are okay, or call to see how they are doing. Offer to help in any way possible. These would be fitting ways to honour Chris’ legacy.
