My Nonno was an amazing man. He was funny, intelligent and so loving.
Nonno had the greatest sense of humor. We would tease each other all the time. He picked up on my sarcasm even in his late years and was quick to give it right back. He even kept Nonna laughing despite the stress of his care. I am going to miss all the laughs we had together.
Nonno was so intelligent. He would always be reading, and writing and trying to learn new things. He took alot of pride in his grandchildren attending post-secondary school, an opportunity he did not have for himself, and always took a great interest in what we were learning and what we were doing for work. He loved trying to learn how to use technology. Together we would go on Google Maps and find his house back in Italy, and reminisce on his life then. Nonno would also request us play Italian songs on Youtube. He would watch the videos of Andrea Bocelli concerts and sing along to the music.
Nonno was the cuddliest man I knew. I would love bringing him blankets when he got cold, and tucking him in like a cocoon. I will miss our snuggles the most. His chest had a perfect spot for my head to rest.
Nonno and Nonna exemplified true love. I will always remember the patience, dedication and care that was modeled for me throughout my life. Nonno loved Nonna more than anything, and I'll miss witnessing their affection towards each other.
Nonno, Thank you for the life you have provided for all of us. I am so blessed to have spent 23 years with you. I will miss you every day. I love you.
